EXPEDITIONS OF A NEW ERA TO CONNECT THE OCEANS TO YOUR WORLD

PROJECT

Democratize and open up access to the ocean

The ocean has always fascinated, with its depths almost inaccessible, making it one of the last frontiers of human exploration, until now reserved for a handful of enthusiasts and scientists.

But a new era is dawning. Technological and digital advancements not only allow us to go further, but more importantly, to bring the ocean to everyone, integrating it into daily life without altering it.

Such is the ambition of the Black Whale Project: Immersive explorations to spark curiosity, knowledge, and appreciation.

Through agile expeditions and innovative tools, we push the boundaries of the possible. By combining the interactivity of digital media with the rich storytelling of documentaries, and drawing on science to understand and art to awe, Black Whale Project seeks to captivate the widest audience.

“Imagine experiencing live, from your smartphone, the very first exploration of the Bahamas Blue Hole, just as our parents witnessed the first steps on the Moon on their television.”
— Antoine,
CEO of Black Whale Project

MULTIDISCIPLINARY EXPERTISE

A new kind of ocean explorers

The Black Whale vision was born from a dual influence: the legacy of great explorers, like Cousteau, who inspired us to carry on by learning from the past, and a digital culture that drives us to break the rules of storytelling, allowing for the unexpected and striving to share and interact more.

Shaped by video games as much as by a deep connection to nature and biodiversity, we aim to reconcile digital exploration with the awe of the real world.

Black Whale Project brings together a team that is as diverse as it is complementary: audiovisual production, robotics, digital expertise, social and environmental responsibility, sociology, communication, maritime exploration, marine biology…

A unique synergy to connect new audiences to the ocean and its challenges.

12 international maritime expeditions completed.
5 years of collaborations including: UNESCO, Energy Observer, BBC, Julian Charrière, etc.

TECHNOLOGICAL EXPERTISE

A new kind of ocean explorations

Our thirst for adventure and passion for technological innovation have allowed us to perfect our mastery of ROVs. Our underwater robot, weighing only 25 kg, is capable of reaching depths of 500 meters with a cinema camera and live broadcast capabilities.

This has driven us to overcome the technical challenges related to light at great depths and underwater acoustics, pushing the limits of interaction while remaining agile on boats ranging from 8 to 16 meters.

These years of work at sea have taught us how to operate drones in extreme conditions, making them amphibious or deploying immersive cameras close to wildlife, without direct human intervention.

THE FUTURE EXPEDITIONS 2025-2026

Commitment and mission

The Black Whale Project is above all a rigorous approach: each expedition is meticulously prepared on technical, scientific, and media levels to ensure an exploration that is both relevant and immersive.

Whether supporting those who are working on the ground to advance knowledge or exploring a mystery, we always rely on scientific facts and immerse ourselves in the local culture to enrich our stories.

This is why we prioritize 3 to 4 expeditions per year, to dive into unexplored locations, capture unique images of marine life, and spark curiosity by pushing the boundaries of knowledge.

METHOD

Three keystones for a reimagined exploration

Collaborate to merge perspectives and reach new audiences
We work with scientists, explorers, journalists, change-makers, as well as personalities from the worlds of sports, art, and digital technology to enrich our expeditions and offer a vision of the ocean that is both accurate and inspiring.

Create content to entertain and deliver new experiences
We aim to invest in today’s platforms and technologies with live broadcasts on interactive platforms, 360° films, and immersive exhibitions. We seek to capture interest and evoke emotion with topics that will resonate with the widest audience.

Assemble high-tech technologies to push the boundaries of exploration
With robots equipped with cinema-quality and immersive cameras, we access unexplored places and approach species that are difficult for humans to reach, whether due to their danger or the extreme depths at which they live.

PROGRESS STATUS

Let’s meet

After several years spent developing the project and gaining the experience needed to bring it to life, the Black Whale Project team is now fully mobilized to make it a reality.

Interactive live broadcasts with personalities, cutting-edge robots exploring places that awaken our adventurous spirit, or getting closer to fascinating marine animals: we want to use entertainment and emotion as a powerful lever to spark curiosity and reconnect the public with the ocean.

You have received this presentation because we believe our visions might align.

Let’s explore together the opportunities that inspire you.
